Macbeth letter Neve.H

Dear wife,

The battle was extremely tough but we managed to dominate the Norwegians, and we took victory. We are ecstatic about conquering the abhorrent enemy!

As Banquo and I looked upon the blood-stained, marshy heath – to see if there were any survivors – we saw three malevolent witches standing before us.

These crones prophesied that I would become Thane of Cawdor and receive the crown hereafter.

I have some exciting news for you: I am now Thane of Cawdor since the Thane before me committed treason. King Duncan later sentenced him to death and removed his title.

Malcolm, who is King Duncan’s son, is the Prince of Cumberland; I am planning on killing him and making sure that I become King before he has the slightest chance to touch my throne.

I look forward to seeing you

love from Macbeth.
